I have a Lafayette Comstat 25A that I will be restoring this fall. Front face looks perfect. Case will need to have scratches filled and repainted. Radio will need to be recapped, and whatever else is wrong. The only thing that looks crappy is meter. It has severe sun fade, and the labeling is very light. If anyone has one of these in a scrap unit or such, I am interested.

'Bout all I can tell you is to watch for one on ebay. I see old Lafayette tube bases on there all the time. The Comstat 25A was a pretty popular model, so they show up on there regularly. They generally sell for a fairly low price too.
I saw one with that add-on "priva-com" unit (I think that's what it's called). It and the radio were in really good condition. The priva-com thingy, which I think is similar to a PL tone setup, plugged into a socket on the back of the radio - the socket looked like it would normally facilitate an 8-pin vacuum tube.
I think that radio sold for less than $30. And it had the original mike too...
