I noticed on the mkIII some have the eagle that is more bulky and smooth and some have the thin crisp eagle like the mkIV.
Also noticed that some have a whiter looking speaker grill while some have a more gold look. Some have a more green face and some have more of a brown face.
Any rhyme or reason ?? Just curious if it is more early to late models, Or different plants and stock at the time.

Also noticed that some have black rubber round feet held on with screws and some have the square brown rubber stick on feet.

The less defined eagle, blonde speaker grill, gold meter bezels and black round rubber feet were leftovers from the MKII series. They were used on the early MKIII's until the supplies ran out. The receiver with these shouldn't have the HF band from the factory like the later models. In about the second or third year there was a bad paint run giving the front panels a "greenish" tint. The blonde MKII speaker grills were used on the two piece front panels where the speaker grill was screwed on to the chassis. The later models with the brown grills were a one piece front panel and the grills were glued on.

Is one better than the other as far as performance or reliability?

Is one better than the other as far as performance or reliability? They are the same chassis except for the speaker mounting and tuning switch circuit.
