Does the Browning Mark III SSB transmitter have a modulation or mic gain adjustment? I've been told my MODULATION S A BIT TOO LOUD and wanted to see if I could lower it a bit. I run a non-amplified D-104 or the Banana mic. Maybe the previous owner did some "super modulation" modification if there is such a thing for this radio?

If momory serves me right, yes the MK III has a pot in the front left behind the speaker. Look on CB tricks, I think they show the location. Been a long time since i was in mine.
Good luck,

Brandon,
It's R38, located right between the 12AX7 mic amp tube and the channel selector.

I didn't open up the radio yet, but I finally made a microphone adapter that will let me use any Cobra 4 pin mic on the browning. I used a two pin browning (Amphenol) mic cable connector and a short 6" piece of coiled mic cable to a female 4 pin cable end. Interesting to try different mics on this radio. I found out that the noise canceling mics like the Turner Roadking 56, stopped the "ping " altogether while other mics limited it depending on the radio's speaker volume. The RF Limited 2018 Extreme Echo mic had good results that added a touch of "big room" acoustics yet kept the modulation in check with the right setting on the mic's internal gain adjustment. Can't wait t try'em all.

I finally found one that I am pretty sure was barely used with box and all for $35.00. I should get an adapter made up like you have a try it on my Mark III just to see how it sounds. I know it sounds great on my Ranger 2995DX and my Super Star Jackson, haven't tried it on any oher radio yet!
