Well it's nice to know some people understand that not everything that's old is "worth something".............. Good price. The first link seller probably knows the "temp gauge guy", and is just as off the rails....

Well it's nice to know some people understand that not everything that's old is "worth something".............. Good price. The first link seller probably knows the "temp gauge guy", and is just as off the rails.... My 23 channel Royce 1-620 base rolled in last week, and I got a chance to look it over last night. Can you say....mint! This thing could not have had much use. It looks like new. All the crystals are within 100 to 300 Hz of their target frequency. The 37.850 MHz master oscillator crystal for channels 21 through 23 was dead though. I heated up the solder points on the crystal and reseated it. It fired right up, and now it is on frequency as well. It has channel 22a/24 transmit if you balance the channel selector between the "23/PA" spot, but no audio on receive even though the signal meter is showing an incoming signal. I'll have to figure out how to disable the "PA" in the blank spot, and get channel 22a/24 there instead. This is the crystal mixing scheme it uses; www.cbcintl.com/XTALS/AM%2037600-10180-10635.pdf The output is just a hair under 4 watts, and it does not appear to have been clipped or peak. Other than contact cleaner on the channel selector wafer switch and re-soldering the 37.850 MHz crystal I think I am going to leave it as is. It does not appear to need a realignment despite it's age. It obviously spent most of it's life protected inside a sealed box. Nice find at $7.99 BuyItNow plus shipping. : ) Night Ranger

I can repair electrical issues, but restoring cosmetics is far trickier for me.
