Know very little about the Pace lineup. A friend had one in his car back in the 70's and it had outstanding audio. The one I am looking at is a Sidetalk 1000B 40 ch AM/SSB. The radio is almost mint, not hacked. Any info pro or con on this radio would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.......

I think they're good looking radios and have wanted one for a while. Nice big meter. Have not heard one on air yet to my knowledge. Here's our friend 262 showing one: www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4JWUlKaXJ8

I have one thats been sitting in the closet for several years now. It was an okay performer, not the loudest but clear. The only knock I had against it was that it wasn't hardwired. The traces would open up over time due to the heating and cooling of the radio and my tech would have to go thru it periodically fixing solder joints that had opened up when the radio started acting up.

I own three Pace 1000b radios myself nice radio two 23 channels and one 40 channel. I do like the 23 channel better it sounds smoother than the 40 channel and more modulation as well! And it has a clock and ya gotta love the BIG S meter.
