I'm guessing this guy is an idiot, or is selling someone else's estate gear and doesn't know what he has. It makes no sense at all to separate the amp from the transformer. They are basically useless as individual pieces.

They are basically useless as individual pieces. The biggest idiot sale I ever saw on Ebay was this woman that purchased an out of business electronics dealer's inventory. The dealer had a large inventory of radio crystals. She did not want to take the time to list each one, so she had her children break the crystals out of their individual packages and put them in a big pile. Then she offered several piles of crystals on Ebay with no idea of what the frequencies were or what they were for. The Ebay ad even had pictures of her children sitting around the breakfast room table and breaking all the crystals out of their packages and putting them in a big pile in the center of the table. It made me cringe. I emailed her and said; "The next time you have the chance to buy electronic parts...DON'T! You turned those crystals in to a worthless pile of junk." Night Ranger

I would not give her $1 for them without knowing what the frequencies are. Night Ranger

See it all the time. Browning, Demco and Drake pairs separated, matching mics and speakers separated, ect. Folks don't have a clue, are greedy or are heavily medicated.
Good if you only need the one item, bad for sanity.
