OMG! ROTFLMAO!!! Man, that's the chip I need for the "DOSY-DOH!" watt meter, for sure! . I take it that it plays all that crap over the air? Only goes to prove that if you add sound and flashing lights, you can sell just about anything to anyone! . 73, Randy AB5NI

Now I'm wondering if that is actually a radio or some device that connects to the mic jack? I'm thinking the latter. 73, Randy AB5NI

I'm pretty sure I heard one of those idiot boxes on the air awhile back or one just like. It reminds me of a toddler in a crib playing with a big plastic Fisher Price "Activity Center" gadget with wheels, dials, and bells to spin, push and ring. It's bad enough that I don't understand Spanish, but the added "accents" only make it more irritating. I guess some people are easily amused....

I want one of those super sound boxes so when the skips rolls south of the border, at least we'll have something in common when I key...(insert jack hammer sound with mariachi band playing in background here) This is a good selection of CB sound effects and audio clips to try for your personalized sound box: www.bellscb.com/products/noisetoys/BellsCB_sound_effects.htm

I agree about the toddler "Activity Center." I guess the important thing here to note is that there are folks out there that are attracted to such nonsense, just like there are folks attracted to spinning rims on cars and other visual effects. A good example of this on that "radio" is the colorful display used on the case. They buy this stuff because they think it looks and sounds cool. Same psychology applies to the folks that buy the DOSY watt meter -- it moves a lot, so it must be better. I guess it could be a CB chassis/board installed inside of the thing. I wouldn't do it that way, if I was to do something like that. I'd make it a device that plugs into a mic jack, use an Arduino Uno microcontroller, get rid of most of those switches, and add a USB connection so folks could update to samples of their own choosing. I'd also use a small LCD display to add more "bling," and more LED's, and I'd advertise the ability to get custom-designed decals that were made to order to paste on the thing. You could have default decals for a reduced price, or the custom decals would be $40.00 more. (If you're going to screw em, you might as well screw em well! .) Hmmm. Something like this might be the 2nd offering from "DOSY-DOH Electronics International." . Think I might be able to get Night Train's "Train Approved" stamp on the thing? . We can easily draw up a mean-looking steam-engine train with "Train Approved" lettering right underneath it and glue that sucker right to the top! . Anywho, without the addition of the CB chassis (if there is one), you would also increase your profit margin. That always sounds good when you're selling people "bling garbage." 73, Randy AB5NI

I'd give the folks that purchase that thing about the same mentality as the kid, but I'm leaning toward the kid having more sense . 73, Randy AB5NI

We can also put in an application with the federal government, describing our rigorous testing and overall assessment of electronics, hoping to obtain a "Zero-Five Proof!" certification. Then we can have our sticker right up there with UL, RSU, etc. . 73, Randy AB5NI
