Nice piece Night Ranger nothing like a classic for Classic Radio Roundup! I'm undecided myself mite just have wing it! My Simba is on the operating table for at least the 1st half....... 9:46 P.M. The videogate has been running for an hour and a half, and all I have to show for it are Carlos, Miquel, Sofia, Isabella, and way too many noise toys. Night Ranger

Night Ranger Yeah same my way no skip, my locals chimed in for Roundup down my way but that was it. Turned on the Spew to catch the local chatter in Pottstown area Sandbagger, Sparky, Skeeter, and Spitfire. Skeeter's Browning sounding great.Even that Simba sounded good with that Sandbagger audio. I even tried to shout for the Night Ranger using the Browning Golden Eagle with 100watts.

It's quieting down now, but I'm heading off to bed shortly.....

I'll probably switch between the 2 for the fun of it.

Pace 1000b 40 channel will be my choice of the night, even though the 23 channel version has better audio.

Looks like one of several Generic brand radios that hit the stands during the CB boom. Most of them used "one-hung-low" chassis in them that were not shared by any of the more well known brands. Hopefully this one works ok.......

Yea, it was a light turn-out. Pete was absent, as was Night Train. I was way late and caught the middle of the roundup from the car. We ended up switching to LSB for a while so my "mud-duck-mobile" could be heard over the horde of south of the border nonsense. But this is to be expected in the summer.

He was on his Palomar Skipper on the wire antenna with no power applied.

It's a little awkward for me to run SSB on the base because of the relay chatter in the amp and in the coupler that I made for the Spew Radio receiver, so I usually have to run barefoot to minimize that. On a similar note, I've caught a couple of guys talking on LSB on 13 once in the morning, and once on my way home from work in the afternoon. I don't recognize the voices, and they ignore (or can't hear) me when I try hollering at them. I have to wonder where they're from.....

I was ghost talking quite a bit for the first hour, but I had fun keying the Mark III.
Ping here, ping there, long ping, short ping, mess with the mic, mess with the AF gain. Ping ping ping. Mess with Mexico. Ping on them with 600 peak long time. Mess with the Google verbal translator OTA (English to Spanish setting over the speaker so the mic would pick it up in fine fashion) Now that was entertaining as the conditions were so favorable that they definitely heard me. The Google lady said nothing really bad, just stuff like "Ping...change your frequency" "Ping...Please go to another channel" and my fave of the night "Ping...Classic Radio Round Up" in Hispaniola over and over. Take that Sweaty Maria, haha.
Then I switched radios and local folks started showing up. I actually don't have a Class AB solid state amp that does side band with any mentionable power, so I ran the Stryker that does about 60 watts SSB. It's very stable and seems to be heard locally.

Yeah seems to have great modulation and a nice receive. But what the heck its a Cobra 146gtl backbone inside just new skin. And it works great on SSB mode as well it's a plus plus radio.

Well I know Browning sold them but didn't make them but the one I posted looks like the real deal. Browning didn't make their mobile radio's either, Pace and Toshiba helped with them radio's. And the real early mobile's were made by ? Any body know the answer? Hmm! And no cheating by looking it up on the internet. Believe me the truth is out there!

Well, if superhawk is selling it, you know it has to be the real deal. He's been a Browning Deal since 823 BC...
