I have a local friend who has an antenna still in the box that is a RARE one.I think it did not require a rotor but has a switch box of some kind.I read the box & it seems as if it was made by Signal Kicker or it was called a Tri-Kicker.I have no idea how many directions it switches to or what the power handling is but I know it's not an antenna that I ever saw in operation & I've been in CB Radio since 1965.It looks like a Three Element Beam in the picture on the box but I have not read the directions so I'd know if it's a 3 element beam & needs a rotor or if it's got a switch box? Does anyone remember that antenna? If so was it a 3 element beam or something like the Super Scanner with a switch box? I ask about it years back in another group but never got an answer for sure.I might see about buying it if they still have it but I'd have no idea what it's worth? They also made one called the Base Kicker & I know it did not require a rotor & it for sure worked like the Super Scanner with 4 different directions & not just 3 like the Super Scanner. The Base Kicker was pictured on the November 1974 cover of S9 Magazine & it looked really cool for sure.

Six-Shooter It was made by Turner (same as the microphones), when they got into the antenna business. It works on the same theory as the Super Scanner, only the Turner antenna could electrically switch 4 directions, vs. 3 for the super scanner. I never knew anyone who owned one of these back in the day, so I have no first hand knowledge of how they performed. s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/eb/c8/b3/ebc8b3eceab2ee69f2396cf465269f2e.jpg

Well after missing the Eyeball gathering yesterday because I was sick as a dog. Tonight I’m running a Stoner Pro40 on SSB. Just waiting on the speaker for it to come today!

Shouldn't you be on channel 16 for the SSB roundup? Where did you get the Stoner? They are considered to be the Rolls Royce of CB SSB radios. I never knew anyone who had one back in the day, and never even knew they existed until sometime in the 90's, when I started getting on the internet. They aren't the most powerful, with barely 12 watts (if that) of PEP power (that's what they make amps for right?), but the receiver really shines.

I got it on the Bay. For $328.00 see sometimes dreams come true! The speaker was $299.00 but I wanted it to match so had to bite the bullet. I had one before but this one works better.

Well the Ultimate Stoner Pro-40 SSB CB Base is getting almost complete just two more pieces left to get. Stoner Pro-40 SSB Station update Unit does need some TLC but in amazing shape so I think it’s a keeper. And it works besides the frequency counter not working.

Just a thought because I know we all have them classic 23 channel gems that have sideband or double sideband. That we all would love to run SSB mode. A lot of skip rolled in last night on CH38 LSB, it’s been a good while since we had decent skip. Canada, Nova Scotia and even Georgia at the same time!

It's an "off" time of the year for "E"-skip, so I wouldn't think it will hang around for too long. A lot of weather is heading our way again, and that may have something to do with it

Love seeing the rare stuff! You, sir, have some awesome radios for sure. But I have to admit that I am an SBE fan, so I especially like the Console VI. I had never seen one of these before. There's been a few Console V's for sale lately online as well as some odd duck early models, but nothing nice enough to want to own. Keeping my eyes open for the right one to come along. :-)

And yes the SBE console IV was also one it is very unique and rare bird. Good luck on your quest!
