Unless you use it horizontal, then height is not so much a concern... I was going for horizontal, but I was unaware of the height requirement. Oh well, at any rate I may have come up with a solution for mounting the IMAX where it was without penetrating the roof. Cold weather is coming and winter just isn't the same without a CB radio.

There isn't really a height "requirement" as much as the radiation angle becomes lower once the antenna is mounted a full wavelength above the ground. But depending on the kind of DX you want to work, it might actually be better is the radiation angle is a little higher. The sunspot cycle is pretty much done and won't be back for several more years in big numbers, so we'll be getting mostly E-skip occasionally. That probably works a little better with a little higher radiation angle.
