Merry Christmas to all from the Monkey cage! Good to hear ya back on the air MM! Sounding loud and clear over here on 21 the other night. Santa brought me a larger dual band mobile antenna and associated 5" mag mount. The old one I had was just a super cheapie cell phone style unit. It got out okay but received poorly.

Thanks, good to be heard! Santa didn't bring me anything radio related, but my annual "from me, to me" gift is a cheapo, Chinese hybrid stereo "tube amp". Reviews are mostly favorable, and many self proclaimed audiophiles give it thumbs up. Should be here Wednesday and it'll go in the addition along with my reel to reel and turntable once complete...

Those output tubes look a bit small, but they claim 25 watts, so that's not too bad. Bet it sounds nice. Although it's kind of ironic listening to digital music on a tube amp. This would have to be strictly analog turntable for me........

Can't wait to bust out the reel to reel and run it through this thing. And I'll have to source a phono preamp to drive my Sony PS-X600. No biggie, they're cheap enough. And a selector switch, too as it only has 2 analog inputs. The wife is going to hate this.

Received this amp today and I have to say that I'm impressed. Fit and finish is pretty darn good and the controls feel solid. Ran it for about an hour and a half, mostly Bluetooth from my phone but I did connect my Yamaha tuner too. Nice, warm and smooth. Merry Christmas to me!

Very nice tube stereo. Price looks to be nice as well if it's the ones I see on eBay for around $250 shipped.
One of these days I'll get my tube audio gear back out. I miss the great imaging and large sound stage full rich tube harmonics produce.
I sold the Mac tube mono blocks I had but kept the Fisher 500-C tube receiver and Altec 100 watt tube mono block. I have a pair of Altec model 14 speakers to pair up with the Fisher. Got a Sunfire dual 10" sub that the plate amp took a dump on, so that will run off the Altec 100 mono-block tuber in fine fashion.

This is the Nobsound MS-10D MKII, $219 shipped via Amazon prime. I had a Mac receiver, forget the model, a hybrid. That thing was a beast, but it was acting up and in need of service so I sold it on fleabay. Years ago I had a Dynaco tube amp and tuner. Guy at work gave them to me and I saw dollar signs so I sold them, I regret that now. Just got done setting this one up with the Yamaha CT-800. 25 Watts per channel is plenty...

Brother-in-law Claus just dropped off a bucket full of mobile CB radios, 3 to be exact. A Lafayette 525, a Knight Safari III and Cobra 19 Plus. All look to have gone through the war, I'm almost afraid to touch them...

All look to have gone through the war, I'm almost afraid to touch them... The Lafayette was a true classic, and built like a tank. Voted best chance at surviving a nuclear war. And if it turns out not to work, you can always use it as a door stop, wheel chock, or an anchor for a rowboat.

Up for grabs, free bucket included! The Cobra powers up but no sound or transmit. And no power cords for the others, and I don't have time or motivation to mess with them. Only the Knight has a mic. Free to a good home. If anyone local is interested let me know.

And that Knight might actually have been a kit radio. Yea, that's old too.......
