Hello, I am trying to determine the value of this CB Base Station Manufacturer - Midland Model - 13-885 Year - Around 1971 I know that they sold brand new for around $400 back then. This one has a VFO frequency expansion custom attached to it. I'm not sure if the VFO is used for TX and RX or just RX. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I got it in a trade back in 1976. It was struck by lightning and I managed to fix it. I've had it ever since. I value the radio due to the memories that I have with it. But honestly, it's not a Browning or a Tram, so its value as a collectable is not all that much, and will ultimately depend on what someone else is willing to pay for it. Typically, back before the clowns on E-Bay (yellow tables and all that) tried to run up the selling prices of radios that really aren't worth what they were selling for, the price for a radio like that would be somewhere around $50, maybe $75 if it was really clean.
