I have decided that the green Mark 3 paint is in fact a fading problem.
Every one of these that I see has the normal brown shade on the inside upper-edge flange of the front panel, even though the exposed face surface has the green shade.
Only explanation I see is light sensitivity. Only exposed surfaces turn green. The brown shade of the surfaces that are shaded under the top cover is the original color of the paint.
These radios were never this color when they were made, only after the surface of the paint has aged.
