Is it in any way worth restoring ? If so, what are its attributes ? Besides being a beautiful radio.

Is it in any way worth restoring ? If so, what are its attributes ? Besides being a beautiful radio. I like it, for two reasons. One, it's a traditional SBE (Not the Land Command series), made by NDI, and retains the classic SBE looks. The second reason I'm fond of that radio is that one of my locals had one set up at his work office and I had worked on it on a couple of occasions. One thing to watch out for, that I remembered coming across, is that there is a Germanium transistor in there (Audio driver) that tends to go noisy. Other than that, if you aren't trying to make it into something that it's not, and enjoy it the way it was made, it's a decent radio.

Ok. Then thats what i will do. There was something i saw online about the internal audio output board that can be replaced by the guts of an old power mic or something. Any idea where i can get the speaker grill for this thing? 321
