Hi friends, We have a radio on the workbench today. It's a Realistic (Radio Shack) TRC-5. We're trying to figure out the power input or power output wattage. The transmitted radiation. That is, when I transmit, how many watts am I actually radiating? We have the Photofact which shows that overall power wattage--that's not the value we're looking for. If we know the output, we can figure out the input; if we know the input, we can figure out the output.
Thank you for any information you can throw this way!
And, by the way, this is my first visit to this forum, so please be patient and kind with me if I'm doing this wrong!
Thanks again! Diane

The TRC-5 is a somewhat rare (1965ish) tube rig. Power input on all CB radios older than the mid 1970's was regulated by the FCC to be 5 watts. Based on differences in design efficiencies, the output power could vary between 2.5 and 3.5 watts.
