Just a thought. A 1965 Courier 23 Plus was $189 in 1965. That is about $1550 in todays dollars. You can buy a new mobile CB today for $40. New CB Galaxy DX2547 base today is $330.

Yes. Love those old '60s CBs and collect General Radio Telephone Super MC-IIA's, Regency Imperials, Sonars, Brownings and Tram Titans. I would assume these all cost much more than the basic three channel CBs of the time and would have been on par cost and quality wise with some of the mid priced hand wired tube HAM radios. Now to find the time to restore them

My buddy has sonar radios and amps. Beautiful equipment. 321Many of the old tube type CBs had more sensitive receivers than the Ham radio equipment from the same era.

Hmmm well im not surprised. Looking at the radios of that time you could see the quality of brands like courier and sonar.they were building good equipment because it was the new technology of the day, competition between brands made items better and better. Those radio were thought to be a necessity to post war citizens.the cell phone of its time! And in the same way drove its production into higher standards.
