A variety of near-equivalent parts will work as the final transistor in that radio. The 2SC2029 was discontinued a long time ago.
The 2SC2078 will work. It's meant for AM-only radios. The 2SC2166 is a good choice, and the also-discontinued 2SC1969 works well in that radio.
Just be wary of chinese counterfeits, especially the discontinued types that are sought after to fix SSB radios.
Pretty sure the 2SC2078 was still being made quite recently.
Beware of MOSFET-final conversions for that radio. I'll skip the boring stuff about why. Suffice to say that a MOSFET conversion is best for a mobile radio, since the power-supply demand will be higher. Your vehicle won't care if the radio now draws 3 Amps on transmit, instead of the original 2 Amps. A base station's power supply almost never has any "reserve" power available, and the original bipolar transistors like the 2SC2078 will make it breathe easier.
