You don't understand. Your interface works with your software because it was written to use those ports for PTT. The VoIP program was not designed to do what we're proposing, and I believe the "livecb" site operator had to make a custom hardware interface to adapt to the software. I'm not sure if he uses some sort of VOX arrangement or what. I guess I'll have to install the program and mess with it..... I think I do understand. If the software has any keying ability. It won't be a problem. If it doesn't, it won't be a problem. I have made many software modes out there work. And some that are not supposed to do what I do, do. No not poop. If all else fails the radio is capable of VOX via soundcard output. That is how I can play ANY sound from my computer and transmitt it out through my radio. Can someone tell me the name of the software they are using? I'll download it and see what we gotta do. I thought about using VOX, but I'm not all that comfortable with using VOX. It's not always reliable, and it limits the radios you can use with it to VOX equipped radios. Sort of lets out using a classic old CB rig. There's also the visibility/legal aspect to consider. It's one thing to stream a CB radio's receive over the internet. But if you're going to allow 2-way operation, you'd better be using a type accepted legal CB radio, in case the FCC gets wind of it. If you want to play with the software, you can get it here.

Eureka. I had a brainstorm. I can use Yahoo voice chat. Set up a conference, everyone signs in and off we go. VOX direct feed from sound card works very well. Could be dicey the other way for RX/TX on internet. Only because of AGC and everyone quick keying. Now I didn't give a hill of beans consideration to using a "legal" radio. I was only looking for a way to make it work. I suppose we could do it legal on the ham bands. But then it not classic round-up. So no matter to me. I was only offering what I had to make the thing easy. I'm back quiet.

A dedicated group of classic CB radio enthusiasts from the Southeastern Pennsylvania area have set aside Wednesday nights from 8:00 to 10:00 Eastern Time, on Channel 13 for "Classic Radio Roundup".. Just a reminder to check out C.R.R. tonight starting at 8:00 EST. I plan on giving the tubes a rest and running a 70's vintage solid state rig, a Cobra 139. We'll see what the rest of the crew fires up tonight...... If you're listening on the streaming audio and want to throw out a comment or two, some of us will be logged into the chat room here as well.

Hey Dave, I too will be solid state tonight with the Lafayette Telsat SSB-140. I got a chance to do a minor alignment on it the other day, so I want to run it. See ya on the Roundup.

Well I will most likely just listen tonight I have some major ice buildup on both of my antennas and my standing wave is above 2.3, so I think I will just listen unless there are some big changes from now until then. I will be on my Gemtronics GTX -5000 tube rig tonight. Lots of ice here in South Central Pennsylvania!

But now (4:30-ish) the rain and the 40 degree temps have melted it off. So you'll probably be ok by tonight. This storm was a real mess. I just wish it would snow, and leave it all snow instead of this mixed bag of crap we keep getting.

I had the beam down your way, but I had some sort of electrical static (sounded like an electric motor) which was making it rough to hear any farther out signals. I think the dense muggy post storm weather probably had a part to play as well. JR didn't make an appearance last night.

If you're listening on the streaming audio and want to throw out a comment or two, some of us will be logged into the chat room here as well. Well, another successful C.R.R. was had last night. We had the usual group of locals, and some check-ins on the audio feed. The rigs heard last night were: Cobra 139, SBE Trinidad, Cobra 98, Lafayette Telsat SSB 140, Tram Titan IV, Tram D201, and the oldest rig on the channel, a De-Wald R1050. The only bad news was that it seems that there's a limit of 5 people who can connect to the audio stream at the same time. After that, you can't seem to connect. So I'm going to see if this is a tunable parameter in either the streaming program or in windows itself. I can't have such a low limit like that as popular as CRR is becoming.......

That dewald sounds great on the crr! ...I can't get the live chat to post. Was the Titan III all solid state or did it have tube outputs? According to the guy (Tim) who was running the Titan IV, it had solid state receiver and tube transmit. I guess the Titan IIa is the one I'll try to find some day. I like the all-tube rigs. What is your opinion of the Titan III? does it work well, or do you think the tube rigs are better?

This week looks to be a battle of the Console II's as Paul and I will pit each other's SBE's against each other. Pete's still on the fence as to which classic to run, and you never know who else may pop in there. I'll have the beam pointed toward South Jersey so hopefully we'll hear Crazy Bob and his crew down there. I also (hopefully!) corrected the 5 connect limit to my streaming audio server. I was running Windows 2000 Professional which hard codes a limit on simultaneous connections. I have installed Windows 2000 advanced server in its place so hopefully we can take more server connections. I just hope my little laptop can handle them all. We'll just have to see........

I pointed my beams up that way, and will give a listen. I'm running a Tram D201. It's not the vox model. It has the BA board, Yet it has the diamond logo on the speaker.
The Titan III is all transistors. It works great! I paid 335.00 for a used one back in 1974.
Last Saturday night, I talked to Billy-Beer-Can on channel 33. He said that he was around Millersville, PA.

Last night during the roundup, I spoke again with Tim, who has a Titan III, Titan IV and D201, and he claims the Titan III is all tubes, and that the Titan IV is hybid, with a solid state receiver and tube transmit, so now I'm really confused. Anyway, Tim indicated that he might want to part with the Titan III, so I might try to coax it from him.....

I had some doubts that this roundup would work out as we had some local interference from a few malcontents in the middle of it. But we perservered and things worked out fine. The classic rigs that I heard last night were Lafayette HB-400 (Pete-441), Royce 1-640 (Art), 2 SBE Console II's (Paul and myself), a Cobra CAM 89 then a Tram Titan IV (Tim), a Tram D201 (Joe) and a President Washington (Mike). I tried listening for the south Jersey crew to make a little noise, but in between the fast keyups (We're really bad about that, and I apologize), I didn't hear much in the distance. Of course we were also logged on to Grumpy's chat room but no one had any comments to add. I thought I had fixed my server's 5 connection limit, but it turns out that there was also a registry setting that I had to tweak. So next week, I will hopefully be able to handle more than 5 people connecting. It was also a good night to view the lunar eclipse.

Wow! That pretty much says it all. I wonder what Tim has? Could it be that the first runs were tube, and the later ones solid state? Or maybe he really has a Titan IIa....... And what about the Titan IV supposedly being "hybrid"? I wonder if 2600 could shed any light on this. He seems to know quite a bit about the history of these old rigs.....

It was a bit crowded on the frequency this week, and Greendog was playing the part of local agitator. Just another retard with radio balls, without the sense of humor some agitators have When he gets older, he'll be in line for the throne to be the next King of the retards, as he takes the place of the Wiz-man, Wizard, our local (S.E. Pennsylvania) mutant CB agitator king. But these on-air social misfits are a part of classic CB radio too. ;D Next week, I'll probably be back on the Robyn T-123B. Gotta keep those caps from drying out.

Yea, he's a piece of work, and I seriously think he's headed for some sort of mental breakdown. He now likes to monologue for minutes at a time talking about totally nothing, and doesn't seem to care who he bothers. He's become very paranoid and thinks everyone is talking about him behind his back. Yea, every local group needs a moron, and for us, he's it.

I remember a while back I was on the Browning barefoot running the A99 and asked for a radio check. He was telling me I was really weak and I should buy a newer radio because those Browning radios are junk. So I turned the beam his way and switched on the D&A Phantom that I had before I sold it to Crazy Bob and asked him how he heard me now ;D Well let's just say that I got my point across 10-4

He calls my rigs "Flea market junk", yet we talk right over him despite all the alleged power he claims to have......

I was told that they had trouble with the solid state 2N2876 final in the Titan III and went back to a 6GM5 tube final in the Titan IV. Everything else is almost the same.
