Your beam should be as high as you can get it, 35 to 40 feet should work well, but the higher you can get it the better. Here is a link for the Assembly Instructions, just click on M103C. www.majestic-comm.com/assembly/index.htm It will show you the length of each element for the frequency desired!

Well I guess this is the proper thread. HELP, although I have been in 11 meters since 1976 I still value all imput! I'd like to put up a beam (have my old Moonraker packed away in the box) my wife only wants one antenna at the homestead. That means an omni. I currently have a I-Max 2000 in the air and it works OK but I"m sure I can do better. I have my 40' tower painted and ready to go up and I want to put the best omni on it I can. I had a Super Penatrater 500 back in the late 70's and I can assure you it worked better then any of the "sticks" I have used since. The Maco 5000 looks good but I have read some posts where folks had SWR problems when it rained. There is a company called "Signal Enginering" that makes an antenna called the "Thunder 8". It can work as an omni or bi-directional with a switch box. It is fairly compact at 14'7" tall and weights about 11 pounds. It's a pretty cool idea, just wondering if anyone on the board used this antenna and how they felt about it. I gotta get it right the first time! If the Penatrater was still made I'd put another up in a heart beat. Thanx for any input.
