Today arrived my newest tube radio via USPS. It is a MINTSonar FS-2340. I very rarely use the word mint, but this radio is mint ;D The radio looks just like it came off the assembly line. Needless to say I am a very happy fellow right now I will post some pictures once my batteries charge up for my camera!

There was a little reflection from the flash, the face and cabinet are perfect! Still some original Sonar tubes in it

I notice it's a bit different from the FS-23 models I'm familiar with. I'm beting that rig will fire right up and be CRR worthy in no time.....

Yep, it's a 40 channel. The receive is great, output is 4 watts swing to 12 watts. The audio is a little low with the Sonar stock microphone. I'm going to wire a Turner Plus Three to it tomorrow which should take care of that minor problem. Otherwise, the radio is top notch and ready to go ;D

I've always liked the "all-business, no-nonsense" appearance of the Sonar radios. My friend Art has 2 FS 23's and the matching 4 sweep tube amplifier, and they're all top quality construction.

Scott you're killing me!!!!! That is the one tube set that I have not been able to get my hands on, at least one that wasn't ready for the trash can! Have fun with that one as it was one of the better engineered radios at that time. (my opnion of course!) I have a ham friend that has one and it is quiet but still has great sensitivity. I'll be on the net tomorrow night at least till the locals run me off as that freq. still has a lot of AM traffic down here. 73's
