Tonight I had a problem happen all the sudden. I checked into a net after doing my tuning. When I tuned to the others they said I was off on transmission. We were at 3.803 . I had to tune around 3.804 for them to hear me on freq.( My back dial may need adjusted , it may not be reading correctly. These are adjustable) This left them sounding high pitched to me . When checking the clarifier from off to zero there is a change that wasn't there before. If I put the clarifier to 0 they sound on freq . But when I turn the clarifier off they are off freq to me . The 0 and off positions are to be the same . Would this be remedied by adjusting the pot for the clarifier adjustment ?

Just a shot in the dark (like most of my posts). If you're just concerned with 11 meters, set the radio to channel 20 in the AM mode and using a signal generator set to 27.205 MHZ. If you know what pot is what try adjusting for center slot like that. The pot has probably some dust, hopefully it hasn't suddenly gone bad. Switching back to sideband should provide the offset, I'm not all that familiar with Yaesu's and there might be an easier way??

Thanks Tombstone. I found this in my manual. Funny thing I turned it on this morning and it seemed to be ok. Sometimes a guy can only scratch his head.

That's strange that it would cure the problem on it's own but it will probably happen again. If you have a little compressor try blowing out the pot without turning it. Might just be dusty. There also might be a bad capacitor in that circuit that gets weird after warmup. I have a Browning R27 receiver that has great receive until the radio warms up and then you can hear capacitor static like lightening crashes, It's never had the caps replaced, yet. Good luck.

Better lay off the eggnog.................it's a little bit early in the year Glad to hear it is running. Problems that fix themselves are always the best as long as they stay fixed. BC

Glad it worked out!!! Rcv and Xmit tracking is a real problem sometimes............oh really all the time. That's why I don't like unlocked clarifiers on SSB radios. Everyone is not the same but you ought to be able to tune to them. This makes me want to bring one of my Yaesu's out of mothballs and fire it up. Think I will.
