Classic Radio Roundup is approaching it's 2 year official anniversary of sponsorship at Grumpy's forum. What started out as a couple of guys playing with some "antique flea market junk" vintage radios has grown to a weekly on-air "meet and greet". At its peak, we've had as many as a dozen or so people checking in along with 10 listeners on the streaming audio server. Speaking of which, the original audio server is now back on line here. While the level of participants has fallen off as of late, we're still going strong. Last week brought about a quick and dirty impromptu shootout between a couple of radios in the audio quality department. The Tram Titan IIa was pitted against a Hy-Gain 623 and a Cobra 98, with the Cobra getting the nod for the warmest audio. More shootouts are planned for the future so stay tuned......

Congrats on your anniversary. Wish I could participate. We just had our third anniversary of the Western Pennsylvania Whiskey Sideband Net that I revitalized from the old East Coast Whiskey Net. We have members that check in from two time zones when conditions are right. What's that black face Cobra radio with the clock that's in the back ground of the picture?

And as quickly as the 2 year milestone came and went, we're now up on the 3 year anniversary of Classic Radio Roundup. This past year has been a rough one. Spill over nonsense from another local channel has resulted in some occasional deliberate interference, while some of the regular crew seemed to have lost interest (maybe driven by the local nonsense). But despite all that, we're still making those old radios bark every Wednesday night.
I'm in the process of moving my radio room into a slightly larger area. So when that's done, hopefully I'll be better able to work on and switch between my classic collection. So look forward to some more shootouts as the 4th year commences......

Congratulations on the 3 year mark!
Might want to consider maybe using 27.055 (channel 8). It gives you on one side 27.045 (7A, the RC frequency and on the other 27.065 (channel 9) which *usually* has no one using it.
Just a suggestion.

Hard to belive we are rolling into the third year of CRR. Still going strong. The entire area talks of CRR. Some to participate, some to jam. It is a shame the knuckle draggers canot leave us alone 2hrs once a week. Well it seems I'll be here for year four as I just bought another classic. NOS Regency CR123B. It seems my collection is taken a turn down the Regency line. Now I need another Rainge Gain to complete the line.

Old timers love it, the "all knobs to the right" malcontents hate it, but we'll just keep on rolling as long as there are guys out there wanting to take those old rigs out for a run.....
