Hey Guys, Need a little help. My DAK 10 just suddenly stopped modulating. I changed mics just to see. That didn't work. I changed radios to doublecheck my system, second radio worked fine with the first mic. Any idea on where I should start looking ? Be gentle..Old Dumb Guy looking for a knowledgeable problem solver. Well, I'll be as gentle as I can. The DAK 10 was not designed to handle the heat generated by the modulator transistors, with anything more than stock (80%) modulation. If you've opened up the limiters or had the radio "peaked" in any way, it's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when, those transistors will pop. So I suspect that is what is wrong with yours. Does it still modulate on SSB? If so, then I would definitely consider the output modulator stage transistors. If no output on SSB as well, then it could be something in the lower level audio stages or a broken wire inside the mic jack.
