Classic Radio Radio Roundup from Charleston, South Carolina receiver. Sorry for the blurry video. I just grabbed the camera while I was talking and parked the tripod in front of the receiver. Next time I'll get the video crisp. Receiver is a Browning Golden Eagle Mark III. The antenna is a home made Lazy H wire antenna at 50 feet at the top wire aimed up the East Coast of the U.S.A. www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3_gEgJzZtwNight Ranger

It was great hearing my station in the distance for once, rather than through my own streamer where I'm always +30db over S9 and without any interference. Not a true representation of what other people hear. I was running the Pearce Simpson Simba on the D104. Interesting also how everyone's signal shifted differently. Skip conditions are never really steady, so I'd expect signal fades, but I noticed that the different guys on the channel changed differently. There were times when I was stronger than Pete or Gene, and other times the opposite. I guess it all boils down to the individual antenna arrangements and their respective radiation angles and polarity. I am just enjoying these new facets of Classic Radio Roundup. As long as the E-skip is going to be in there, we might as well have some fun with it......

If you can't have fun with this hobby, why bother?

If you can't have fun with this hobby, why bother? Exactly! But it's nice to have a few new ways to have fun. It makes the fun.... even more fun! ;D

I picked up a little desk tripod for the HD camera. That should make it easier to do close ups of the receiver with the macro lens setting to get rid of the fuzzy video.
