Classic Radio Roundup - 7/20/2011
I enjoyed listening to the Classic Radio Roundup last night. Unfortunately for me there was no skip running from South Carolina to Pennsylvania, so try as I may my best efforts just went out in to space. Marvin The Martian said I was rocking the moon though. He also wanted to know if I had seen his Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator.

You should have tried for a EME bounce to Pennsylvania!

Shame the conditions weren't there (did I actually say that?), I wanted to hear what my "Broadcast audio" radio sounded like in the distance. We did have quite a few locals saying hello though.....

You should have tried for a EME bounce to Pennsylvania! Now THAT would have been some accomplishment.

Now THAT would have been some accomplishment. I couldn't even picture the transmit array for an 11M bounce. I'd like to see it, though. I don't think anyone has done a HF EME.

There was a picture years ago of an EME antenna for 440 MHz in the ARRL handbook. The antenna was mounted on a gun turret from a destroyer, and the ham shack stood between the legs that supported the gun turret. Night Ranger
