Great Gates Alive! Big Multi-County CRR turnout. Funniest part of the evening for me was at around 55:19+ where we were talking about the technical pros of the SBE Console II and Skeeter chimed in a few seconds later Classic fun. "Greg Brady called, he wants his radio back"...........

Nice Video for sure with great sounding audio. Thank You.
Quite a few new check-ins. Awesome. Hope that guy Microfarad checks in again. He mentioned that he works on tube audio stuff and would be a great match with the classic radio crowd. Glad to hear Doc Hammer was listening to spew also.
I was running my audio-power-house Sears 23 CB Transceiver PLL (3) knob mobile, haha.

Thanks, as always, for posting the latest gate Spitfire. I was running one of Grumpy's old DX99V radios, God rest his soul. Fresh off the bench, I had just swapped out the crystals that moved an inherent Ch 13 "Birdie" (Carrier) common to the Galaxy 99V boards and moved it a band over. This bad birdie issue kept me from enjoying the 99V. The mod was a success thanks to members of this fine forum that suggested it. Now to get the channel selector to jive as it's 10 KC (or one channel) above what the frequency counter states. Or... just flick the 10 KC switch as I did I also re-soldered a resistor that re-enabled the AMC. Most radios don't need that mod anyway in my opinion. I Have another 99V that I got from Top Gun and a like-new Voyager CW99V that I'll do the same crystal swap when I get the channel display issue worked out. Update: this 99V has a very wide coarse adjustment and I was able to get the frequency lined up with the channel display simply by rotating it accordingly. Just need to find the adjustment to get the clarifier knob centered up

COOL!!! I completely forgot about it, or I would have parked Spew Radio there. Glad you were able to 'gate it. Looks like those guys quick key like we do. Tough to get in between. Now you know how those guys feel when they try to get in there with us on Wednesday.

Same here, I checked in around 9:30pm and heard no one, so they must have disbanded before then?
The more we talk about it the more I'll remember to get there on time haha.

It was very quite on Spitfire's end, I guess I'm so use to are roundup in the background lol. Even One Eye Jack was running low last night.

Was their a video gate for last night? Only this just under 2 minute snippet that I made while testing out my tablet to see how well it would videogate. I think it would do all right, but I have to come up with some way of mounting it, as there is no way I'd be able to hold it for 2 hours......

Here are the gates for 3/2/2016's CRR. The theme was 3-knob radio night. I'm still figuring out how to work this tablet for taking videos. The first gate I was holding the tablet in hand. That got painful after a while. The next gates I managed to find a way to hold it in the table so it's a bit longer.......... This last 'gate is for Night Train, who wanted to hear how his Tram was sounding with a cheesy hand-held trucker echo microphone.

Microphone stand with a large suction cup in the arm? Might be a solution.

Microphone stand with a large suction cup in the arm? Might be a solution. It would work..... If I had one of those........ If I have to make one, I could saw a groove into a 2X4, and bolt it to the pad on my camera tri-pod. There are all sorts of fabrication possibilities. I did find a quick and dirty solution, at least temporarily last night. I have an old flip open 5 1/4 floppy disk holder which, when flipped open, will hold the tablet at the proper angle to see my radio table from the desk. The only issue is that while I can hold the tablet "vertically" and it rotates the screen to match, the video evidently only records "horizontally". Fortunately, YouTube rotated the video automatically when I uploaded it. Otherwise we'd be watching a sideways videogate.......
