This morning I installed a K-40 steel whip. You guys were so right in recommending this style. I ended up cutting 4" off the whip to tune it in. My SWR ate exactly 1.2 across the board. I'm amazed at both transmission and reception quality. Thanks to all for your advice.

I just did a mileage test with my cobra 29 LX (barefoot) , 18' coax, and K-40 trucker...... 9.2 Miles open highway; 8 miles in town. I will NEVER use a fiberglass loaded antenna again. Thanks y'all. And thanks to my buddy Thumper fer the whip. now I'm really stoked to get that linear installed. #DeepInTheHeartOfTexas- LibSlayer
