I was able to talk with a few local operators earlier in the day on New Year's eve, but missed getting on air for CRR Just curious if anyone was able to get "on air" during the normal show hours during New Years eve? Any way, Happy 2015 all...May you restore many pieces of radio equipment this year!

I could only listen a couple of times but it wasn't as active as Christmas Eve, and the skip was not in there like it was that night either. Just a bit of an entertaining back and forth on 14 between my neighbor and Brother Dog, who, from what he indicated, is supposedly moving down into my neck of the woods too. It's getting a little crowded around here

Yeah I caught a bit of that exchange and would have gated it if I didn't have guests over. Can't we all just get along

Can't we all just get along And if BD does move down this way, it'll only get worse Why is it that when you finally have a nice and clean channel, with fun people, and little stress, that it never seems to last? Not that there's anything wrong on 13, but when tempests in teapots flair on adjacent channels from people way too close for comfort, it's almost as bad......

I move down here in 2003. In 2005, I put up a rig and immediately hit it off with a group on Ch. 32. I become pretty tight with 2 individuals. I fix their radios, they help me with other things. They have been on 32 since the 1980's and 1990's. So one day, I decide to rebuild and repair my original TRC-422A which is the first radio I ever got. After a few glitches (which were cured with the help of you guys here), I get the radio running like new (this is 2014). No sooner than that happens, that the 2 individuals decide to hook up with a couple of other CBers and decide to park their asses on 27.600. I now have my first CB up and running, and there is no one out there to start a rag chew session with. I mean it is dead. And my efforts to get my friends back on 32 have been futile. This after all the years there were on the regular 40 and especially on 32, and would never move even when the douchbags came out of the woodwork. They were so stubborn about moving. "This is our channel!". Then one day last year, they're gone. And now, I basically am begging my childhood friend, whom I got back into CB, to move to this area now. LOL

LOL Well, I would really love it if some of my old time radio friends would decide to get back in there, especially those from the original channel 13 group I was part of in the late 70's. But sometimes when you can't have what you want, you just have to make the best of what you have. That's been my motto through most of my radio hobby, and I guess it can apply to people as well as equipment. Who are the guys up on 27.600 and what made them go up there? It's not like we have a band overcrowding problem (although with the majority of ops in this area on 3 adjacent channels, you might think so). Although I think I do remember good ol' cousin Brucie mixing it up with that channel a few years back when he was bored, so that might have been their motivation. Have you asked them to join us on 13? We are always looking for old time operators.

They seem nice, but I am not going to that freq. I had them go to 28.385 since we are all hams, but then I went to Florida for work, and the next week when I came back, they were gone.
