Super Squalk seems to get some decent stuff to sell but not like the "guy in Canada" that must have a time machine and just keeps bringing out classic NIB CB radios for sale. What is his eBay seller name...Stuff4U or stuff four you? Stuff4you? I can't remember but wow. he sure has the stuff. If you find him on there look at what CBs he has sold over the years. Maybe the person he got it from had Barkett fix some issues to sell. And Stuperhawk thinks this makes the radio more legitimate? I wonder how many of his sales are golden screwdriver specials. Of course his feedback says something else?

I have a funny story about Superhawk (Yellow Table). If you look in the SOLD listings for DAK X you will see that it shows his recently selling a DAK X for $700 plus shipping cost.Well a friend of mine here in Florida made that purchase & I found out after the fact & helped him beat the Superhawk.1st off the DAK X did NOT work at all & had parts laying around inside on the top of the board as well as missing parts.I told my friend to ask him before it was shipped if it worked & he told him YES it works great. He took pictures & video as I advised him to do & he contacted eBay about the deal. They saw where he had ask about the operating condition & the reply that Superhawk had sent & after further investigation they refunded 100% of my friends money & told him he could keep the radio as well.Superhawk still had to pay the eBay fees also.He got himself burned & it is so funny knowing he has scammed so many & now he has gotten a taste of his own medicine.LOL He knows I helped hook him so he hates me big time & I don't care.Thought others would get a kick out of knowing this bottom feeding POS finally paid for his lies. It's good being informed. My friend is looking into seeing about getting the radio repaired. Also the so called Original DAK D-104 ws also a FAKE since it has a brass grill & not a chrome grill so he advised them of that as well.Bet his butt hurt after that one. LOL SIX-SHOOTER I'm sure Superhawk gets burned every once in a while. But as long as he gets away with scamming people, more than he gets caught doing it, he's still ahead of the game. It just blows my mind that EBay isn't wise to it and his seller rating is so good.

Glad to hear that he got a beat down. The fact that he charges 70% or more over a radios worth, and he lied about the condition makes it even better. Buyer 1 Hawk 0

Reminds me of two or three Cobra 29’s I bought on eBay. One died after a few months. Another worked like crap. The guy who sold it was a golden screwdriver tech. He messed up the receiver. I just got a few bad ones.

Yes I should of known better, Golden screwdriver struck me a few times. But I sold all of them as is. Not working radios. Probably made $75. Many people told me to trash them. One mans junk is another’s treasure. 🤔

Now on the yellow table is a rare Browning Labs D 104 BL logo mic. I’m not sure if the mic is real or a super hawk special. The best part is the price. $459, a real bargain. Unbelievable he is charging that much for a mic with a sticker on the back plate. Is this a real BL mic? Even if it is that price is just stupid.

It depends, as I can't see a sticker on the base of the microphone. The Browning-issued D-104's had a 'BL' logo attached to the back of the head and were first offered as a Mark II accessory, but they only used the 'G Stand' base, which has no electronics in it.

So it may be a real BL mic, but knowing his background it may not be real. The price alone would keep me away. But so would his reputation. Thanks for the reply CB.

It is not 100% original because the picture of the bottom plate has a hole for adjusting the microphone.A Non Amplified G-Stand did not have a hole because it did not need one.I have a G-Stand with the Metal name Plate & it has Rivets holding the name plate onto the top of the head & there is no hole in the bottom plate. You can see at least a RED wire inside it appears in one picture.I thought that head also had a metal name plate but maybe not? Few folks have one so hard to compare with the Real Deal & he knows that. SIX-SHOOTER

The felt would wear on the G stand base plate, and people would just grab a TUG base plate and use that. And some G stands came with a cable that had a white, red & shield wire, while others cam with white, black & shield. However, as mentioned with his history I wouldn't give any guarantees that the microphone is original. Astatic did have some odd stands. I have an E-1 stand that is nothing more than small stand without a keyer (or any circuitry for it) bit it will take all the 3 pin heads Astatic made.

And the legacy continues. He continues to put equipment on the yellow table that makes you think how does he get away with this crap. And today I got the eBay email that he has a 148 SSB radio from Taiwan, he claims for the low price of $699.00 I think I’ll by two for that price. He never fails to surprise me.

I would be concerned that the seller doesn’t show the radio working at Receive and Transmit. All of those photos are nice but with out knowing for sure that it is a risk. Also has the pair had a 100 k refresh. If so, then maybe they are worth that amount. Otherwise I wouldn’t pay that price. Another concern is the base plate missing from the mic. Makes me wonder about how things where done when repaired. So I’m at a hard no.

I just reviewed the his information on the radios history. He said the radio was gone through. Well that can mean a lot of things. Anyway buyer beware.

When I looked at his photos again I saw the mic base plate was on the table. But with out seeing the radio operating and a meter showing transmit. It’s a risk.

Let me tell you what gone through means to me. I just went through a mkIvA . Every electrolytic replaced. And I mean every one including all the small ones on the display board pll board , cans, etc. Every carbon composition resistor measured and any more than 2% out of spec or heated replaced with a higher wattage metal oxide. Brand new ceramic mode switch, All new on the air and mode lamps and meter bulbs, all tubes checked and any not 95% replaced with NOS american or Japan tubes. All pins buffed and sockets cleaned with Deoxit. All controls cleaned with Deoxit. Jones plug cleaned with Deoxit. Aligned to factory specs. Then detailed. And all parts used are high quality parts.
So when I see these radios for sale that say recapped or gone through and then look at the pics and see many original caps and dark resistors I say wow. I have also seen several that were sent out to the big name company we wont mention, that were "gone through" and the people spent a ton and seem to be very excited and happy about and notice the only things changed were the cans and some of the other high voltage caps. No carbon comps and non of the low voltage caps. And if Cans peaked to the inner peak. So gone through is an extremely broad term.

"Gone through" can mean simply that the radio was turned on and checked for proper TX and RX, and if it worked fairly well, nothing was replaced. Or it could mean that any glaringly defective parts were replaced, but not any of the equally aging components. I would prefer the term "radio completely overhauled" along with the list of components replaced. Then again *I* would prefer to get a cosmetically clean radio that was non-working for dirt cheap, and I'll restore it myself. It's more fun, and I'll know what was done to it.

Yes, unless you see all the work done it’s a gamble. And I know what you mean. About the big name company that does the minimum to get the job done. I had a MKlll that some one did just enough to get it running. Cost me close to $300 Anyway if I can’t see it, I don’t want it.

I just took a cruise through eBay and saw a MK IV for $399, but the receiver is a smoker. When I saw he didn’t show any photos with it lite I checked his description and he said the radio needs to be looked at. Well another overpriced radio that needs the 100k work.
