The yellow table has a 180, and one or two other Browning amps. A T Stalker XX and a few other items. I wonder how he gets so many great looking radios? All of his stuff looks new for the most part. Sure the cosmetics are nice. But l think how many of them are poor performance equipment for one reason or another. He claims they all are 100 percent okay. But I don’t believe it. Anyway it is what it is.

I forgot to mention the Dak for $1799. I also noticed that he doesn’t show any of his radios lite up. Lots of red flags with this guy.

I see the yellow table has a FT 101 for $699. Seems odd that it is that price and many CB equipment items are way overpriced. Anyway hope y’all are doing okay. Winter is coming up here in Vermont. Hope you stay warm. 73

Now he has a Galaxy 88 HL for sale for $599. I don’t think it sold near that new. Another yellow table special. On a different topic of the yellow table, I’ve noticed that he likes to price most of his Browning’s at $1499.00, maybe it’s a used car sales idea? Just more of the same with that guy. How he gets away with that I don’t know?

Tuff but exciting situation to be in. I have found that it may take a few tries to get an inexpensive used radio that works or is at least a few tubes and crystals away from working. WARNING. This could be a form of eBay gambling that can be addictive You can keep the non-working units for parts as after you have a few, you may be able to combine them into a working unit or recycle them on eBay as I'm sure there have been a few radios that have been around the block as much as the village bicycle. Asking on forum sites and facebook groups is another way of getting leads as you did here. Sometimes folks on Craig's list will ship so try a national search. View AttachmentI love this new ebay definition of "TESTED" ... "Both units turn on. Lights work as it is switched from AM, LSB, and USB. I don't have a microphone or antenna to test any other functionality." Just waiting to read..."See my other auction for matching microphone" Never mind that the channel selector displays 84 on a Mark IV. Oopsie. Oh and he has a TRAM D201 and Mark III for sale "TESTED". Looking forward to use "TESTED" in my next ebay item's auction description for that warm and fuzzy feeling. www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Browning-Golden-Eagle-Mark-IV-4-Tube-Ham-Radio-Gear-TESTED/202200999905?hash=item2f141e67e1:g:AJsAAOSwXOVaZ-Nh

That eBay listening for $1000 is scary at best. No information about what if any work done on the Browning’s, not a yellow table special. But makes me say nope, stay away.

Hi everyone , I've loved Browning radios for years ... in fact , I love older radios in general (Browning , Tram , DAK , and so many more). I've been looking to buy a Browning base station for awhile now . The problem is , Browning equipment is not in huge supply in my area . In fact , there has only ever been 1 or 2 that I can recall being in my area , and those have vanished . So I do a lot of ebay searches to see what's out there . The problem is , I've bought CB equipment before on ebay in the past , that was "cheaper" ... and like many other people , I was burnt . So I definitely don't dare to invest $500/$600/$700 (or more) in something on there , and get burned again . So I was wondering what is everyone's views on purchasing Browning equipment on ebay ... has anyone here ever bought their Browning equipment there , and if so ... was it a good experience ? If any of you did buy equipment from ebay ... I'd love to hear your stories , good or bad ... thanks The best advice I can give is stay away from anything on a yellow table. It's way overpriced and the seller (Superhawk) is a known scam artist. Any old tube radio will need some level of work to get it to play optimally again. Tubes weaken, electrolytic capacitors dry out and lose value, crystals can drift, and even some resistors, which have a lot of current pulled through them over the years, will change value. So a 40+ year old radio will need an overhaul. You might get away with only needing to replace a few parts right away. But eventually their age will catch up with them, and you'll end up replacing more parts as time goes on. So you can either bite the bullet and do it all at once, or you can piecemeal them as they fail. If you are technically inclined and do your own work, the piecemeal approach will probably work. But if you have to pay a tech bench time each time you have to get the radio looked at, it's probably best to have it taken care of all at once.

Looking on eBay tonight, saw a D201 for $1700, really nice radio. But not at that price. What’s going on with all these people placing radios at such high numbers. I’ve been away from CB for a while but this seems crazy.

I’ve been away from CB for a while but this seems crazy. It probably has a lot to do with people looking at asking prices, instead of completed sale prices, when trying to figure what their stuff is worth.....

I have bought 3 radios off Ebay. Guess i was lucky. I got 2 Realistic cb phones and one Eagle series one. Just had Two of them restored. Caps and Alignment on cb phone. Caps and tubes and alignment on Eagle. Plus a Gold Eagle D104. The original mic needs a new element that we didn't find. Fired them up and talked all day. I have two guys i use one doesn't work on tube types last i heard. But he is awesome. Mikes cb radio repair. He has several videos of the radios he repaired including mine.

I spoke to the guy who was selling the $1700 radio. He was selling it for a friend. I think he didn’t know what to price it at. I let him know that the price for radio that hasn’t had the 100k update is no where near $1700. I haven’t checked to see if he relisted it.

Took a look at the wonderful yellow table this morning, saw a MK IV he states has been capped and whatever else his BS said. Price $2299.00 his misguided thinking has struck a new high. Doubt he will move that one anytime soon.

He has a MK IV on the table now for $2499, maybe it’s the same radio with a different story. As for a sucker born every minute, not many would pay either amount for those radios. Just more overpriced radios that make other sellers think they own gold.

I looked at the Hawks site this morning and it occurred to me that this guy seems to get so many pristine radios. Not just Browning’s, but almost everything he has for sale look great. The amount of equipment he has for sale is amazing. It’s been said that he has been known to be a rip off. I’m wondering just how much of his listings are real radios? Not that I want to find out by dealing with him. It just makes me question how he gets so many clean radios and other equipment to sell?

Well it's very well known from buyers that some transactions have not been good.
His descriptions are in most cases are completely inaccurate.
He writes in the advertisements "Restored" "Works Perfectly" "Original" ect......... When that is not factual to individuals that know these items he is selling.
For example, and Tram D201 that he posts for sale, saying "Totally Restored", while posting pictures of the inside, and it's still has all the factory resistors & capacitors. He posts a D104 and says "All Original", when it's quite obvious the base has been re-painted.
With all the inconsistency, reports from buyers, and the physical evidence (his own pictures), he steady targets buyers that are not very knowledgeable of these specific items.
As the ol' saying, "Buy at your own risk"
