Agreed, in the mobile radio platform, the 2970N2 will do that but I have not had good luck running those Chinese MOSFETs into a BiPolar transistor amp. The MOSFETs don't hold up period. I would look for an old Stryker 490 that had the original Toshiba 2sc2290 pill in the back. They would hold up well and sound great on AM. So far the intermediate aged Stryker 490s & 497s with the "no name" pill in the back hold up well but peak out at 80 watts. All newer Strykers have the same Chinese junk MOSFETs in them. Some of the older "Turbo" Ranger's, Connex's, General Lee's and 2970s had real Toshiba pill(s) in them and would work well. You need to confirm what pill(s) are in the radio before you buy it.
