Hi! Old CBer from the 70s and I am starting to get back into it. Picked up a Diamond 60 and seems to be working. I've got this hole on the right side of the case almost all the way to the back exposing a variable resister that is mounted to the main board. The hole doesn't look aftermarket, the vinyl on the case wasn't ripped or frayed at the hole. Actually looked like it was formed around the hole. I've searched all over the web and found a couple others asking about the same hole, but no answers. Anyone know what it is used for? This pic will give you a peek into the hole. I had the case off the chassis cleaning out the pots on the front panel Thanks, Murph

It's supposed to shutdown the transmitter when the SWR reaches a preset level, set by R81.

Thanks! Think I'll put some black tape over the hole and call it good.
