Hello All. I though it would be a no brainier to wire an amplified silver eagle/D104 mic to ramp up the audio a bit. Both mics key up the rig when I plug in the mic. The stock tram mic works fine. I did notice this particular tram does not like the pins 2&3 gounded to the case or it keys up and I think these mics may have the cases grounded which may be causing an issue. Here is how I attempted to wire them: Pin 1 White-Audio Pin 2 N/C Pin3 Shield Pin4 Red/TX I checked with a VOM to make sure red was TX-Shield was common/GND and White was audio. What the heck am I doing wrong???

If it's a Silver Eagle with the six-wire cord, it shouldn't key at all until the blue wire gets joined to the shield.
Any chance someone has tried to "adjust" the contact points in the mike?
Can't see how it can do this if the six-wire cord is wired correctly inside the mike.
Just sounds like you have a wacky mike.

Thanks for the reply. The issue turned out to be a carbon track on the mic plug. Figured that out after it started smoking lol.
