Check out Ebay for these Frankenstein radios. Good work on the faceplate. Just buy a cheap Galaxy instead.

Check out Ebay for these Frankenstein radios. Good work on the faceplate. Just buy a cheap Galaxy instead. I knew a guy who had a Ferrari body on a Hyundai chassis. Definitely a Frankenstein vehicle. But even though it looked good, it certainly wasn't worth what a real Ferrari would be worth. Same goes for these radio abortions. Hey, if you think it's cool to gut a classic radio and put some Chinese radio chassis in there and wire up all the controls like they were originally, then hey, good for you. But make no mistake, it's not worth a fraction of what the original Tram would be worth. It's only a shell of a classic, with none of the pedigree.

The Dak radios LOOKED nice and professional, though. Yeah, I loved the looks of the DAK with those 4 BIG meters. But the performance and reliability was just not that good.
