Some of you may know or have talked to Ray who has done the tech support for Galaxy. Ray, known as GRTS on this forum and many other forums has made this announcement!
****************************************************
Well it seems that my time here at Galaxy Radios may be coming to an end. I want to take this opportunity to say how much I've enjoyed assisting and helping everyone with their Galaxy Radios. Hopefully my part has been a positive one for making Galaxy Radios a better product. While I'm not exactly sure how much time my new schedule will provide for watching the forums you can bet that I'll jump on when time permits. Thanks again for all your kind words in the past and wish me luck towards the future.

Ray is a very nice guy and has been very helpful to many radio operators over the years. He will be missed by many. I wish him success in the future!

That's the thing , he is being left go by Galaxy after many years of service to them!I heard about Ray leaving on another forum, but it was never stated whether the move was voluntary or not. Ray seemed to know what he was doing, but you never know what role internal politics plays in these situations. It may also be as simple as Galaxy outsourcing engineering as well as manufacturing overseas like so many other companies do. I wouldn't worry too much. A guy with his knowlege will land on his feet. Companies like Motorola, Harris, and other communications companies are always looking for good radio guys. He might have to relocate though.........

Fuel prices happened.
The premium products are the first to suffer a drop in sales when money gets tight.
And that seems to be the whole story. Sales take a downturn, and expenses get cut.

Yes, And that cut by Galaxy is only the beginning of more jobs being cut elsewhere. It will get worse before it gets better. I wished Ray the best when I spoke w/ him last week. He is a good man, sorry to see him go.
