A fair price for a Browning Golden Eagle is a moving target. Take a look on ebay and you will see them from 100.00 to 1000.00. No am not kidding. It depends on the condition, if it has had the 100,000 mile tune up. (which can cost 150.00 to 375.00) and the version of MK III. SSB or AM only. Also a sought after receiver is one that has the HF channels. (Channel 22A-59) on the dial.) So, now for the fair price. For a good condition (working) pair w/ the 100,000 mile tune up. I would expect to pay 475.00-625.00. For a pair that needs the tune up. 75.00 - 150.00. Again, depends on the condition. Thats my range of pricing. I have a buddy who would only pay half of these amounts you see here. To sum up this question. BROWNING'S, How bad do you want one? And are you willing to wait for the one to come along at the right price? Hope this helps. 73

Depends on the model also. Some tend to bring more than others. Whatever you decide on make sure your ready to spend some moo-la. One of the biggest factors when I restore a radio for someone is, has it been hacked by a golden screwdriver. Much time is spent just getting the radio back to it's normal self. Not to mention all the parts that need to be replaced and sometimes factory updates. But in the end it's worth it if you like the old birds like me. If you don't hang on to your radios for a extended period of time. I would pass, Had a guy here that was buying like crazy. Restore them and sell them at a loss. All he was doing was fixing radios for someone else. Kind of a nice charity.

Hi Mark4, That is true. I left out the model issue. My 1st MK III, I probably over paid for. The transmitter needed the 100,000 mile tune up. So far just a volume switch on the receiver. After paying for my tune up i am still under 500.00 invested. So i guess I can say I didn't do to bad. Like you said. These classics are not cheap to own, unless you can do all the work your self. 73
