I keep on getting one of my players opening and trying to play something when on certain pages of this forum, this is a new thing for me, I have not come across them doing this type of thing before.
I can only assume that there is some kind of embedded audio or video file, I HIGHLY recommend that it be removed, as it is driving me up the wall (and who knows who else), as my player keeps taking over and moving my browser window to the back, usually when I am trying to type something in the forum!

Hi Scott,
Your browser is trying to open an audio stream. Right now (Sat. night) I'm listening to channel static, someone saying "hello hello" into an echo mike, and the occasional roger beep live from southeastern PA.
But the stream is only active on Sat and (I think) Wednesday nights.
Sure would be nice if the forum were to launch your browser's media plug-in only when there's a stream to be heard.
But as it's currently set up, the browser's media plug-in gets launched the rest of the time, too. Seems to come up when I open a text window to start a thread or answer a post.
Or try to log in.
Sure would be nice if it were a "manual only" feature that works only when you click a link to it.

I have to manually click on the link to bring up the audio server. It doesn't do it automatically on my end. I wonder if it has something to do with individual browser settings. I have a totally different issue. My browser opens only part of the main page and I either have to wait an exorbitant amount of time for the rest to load, or I have to open another browser window a switch back and forth to "kick it in the pants". Maybe the two are related in some way........

I don't have any of these problems on my end. So it would be hard for me to fix something that I don't see not working correctly!

I too Grumpy have got to manualy open the server to get the streaming audio, it never has opened on me by accident or unintentionaly by going to other threads or posting messages. Might be something in their Windows setup that is causing it to open automaticaly on in their media player setup. Just a thought ! Sniper

And I, too, have a problem with the forum. Sometimes when I log it it won't LET me and keeps going firht back to the forum list. Other times (while I am already logged in), I will click on a topic and it will not open, but simply goes right back to the forum list. Sometimes I can open the topic in another window, sometimes not. What's up with that?

I have found a way to stop it though. If you click on the "help" button and let the Proboards help menu open, and then come back to the main screen, it seems to correct the problem for the immediate future. I've had this same problem on other Proboards sites as well. It happens mostly when I'm using my laptop, but it also does it on 2 of my other machines.

I just checked with my 2 Desktop Computers and my wifes Laptop Computer and my daughters Laptop Computer and have none of the problems that any of you are having. So it has to be something on your end and not the forum itself!

Whatever it is, it started last summer. Sometimes I'd try several times, just give up and go away. Then I'd come back later and it'd be fine. Sometimes it helps to open it in a new window........................... Oh well.

I get that login problem as well. But if you clear the "cookies" it seems to go away...just an FYI
