;D Heres a little trick I found that really helps if you've got a little 3" communication speaker in your base - Get a nicer set of computer (or Ipod) speakers. Just plug 'em in to the ext. speaker jack with a mono male to stereo female adapter from ratshack! I found an Altec-Lansing set @ Wally Whirl for about $20.00 This set has a nice center channel speaker with separate left and right satellite speakers. Has a small wall wart for power. The clarity of this setup is unbelievable. Your ears will thank you. 73 and happy dx - Rumrunner

I've got th exact same setup with the Altec Lansing speakers from wally world along with an old equalizer and the sound is beautiful from my mark 3. I have seen some other brands with better sound than the Altecs (just with music) I'm going to try that abd see how it works The subwoofer that comes with the Altecs really helps as well.

I've also got a set of Cambridge soundworks 5.1 ccomputer speakers that have beautiful sound on my desktop PC I'd love o try on the radio. I got them new and for virtually nothing because of a cold solder joint in the power supply. My son would probably scream like a banshee if were to take those.

I am using a set I bought for $2.00 at a garage sale last summer. Really makes a difference!

Glad to know I'm not the only one that enjoys good receive audio, guys! I now have my Galaxy plumbed into a Marantz deck with 2/ 15" and 2/ 12" speakers. All garage sale junk but the best CB sound I've ever heard. Basically any stereo amp/speaker combo with aux inputs can be used if you match the 8 ohm output of your radio to the high imp. input of your amp. (reverse an output transformer from ratshack) The computer speakers are designed for 8 ohm or so and no matching is needed. Reallly make the big guns rumble! 73 - Rumrunner
