i've been looking at the V quad cause it's pretty small and light ..how do you have yours mounted like a V oor like an L they say you can do both ..just curios ...also where did you pick yours up at been watching prices also ...

ok stupid question but why L whats the advantage over the V ?? It has to do with the polarity of the antenna. When you mount it in the "V" configuration, the antenna is horizontally polarized (The radiating part is at the top of the "V"). Mounting it in the "L" configuration is a quasi-vertical polarization. Unless you use it for nothing but DX, you'd probably want to mount it in the "L" config.

I have wondered about making a Vquad with 4 firesticks using those V connectors like truckers sometimes use. Do you think they would work?

I have wondered about making a Vquad with 4 firesticks using those V connectors like truckers sometimes use. Do you think they would work? Most likely not well. You would have to calculate the extra length needed for the reflector, along with the wire which strings between the elements, if you had any hope of creating a decent directional pattern.
