Just wanting to make sure. Is the channnel light bulb for a mark three 12 volts?

A #47 will work good. There is another number I can't remember off the bat that draws less current. If you can find Eico bulbs that is the way to go. They will all burn with the same intensity...unlike the Rat Shack bulbs which usually never are the same.

Thanks for the help BC, I'll see if I can't find and order an Eico bulb. No rush since, with the VFO, the transmitter channel hardly ever gets changed except to excercise the contacts on the switch to help keep them clean.

I prefer to use type 755.

The # 755 lamp is the one I was thinking about and mentioned in the previous post.

The original lamp is #1847. The frosted version is no longer available. I have them and so does Greg Barkett. The MSCP is 38 on the #1847 and 33 on the #755, Maybe not as bright. Don't know if it makes a noticeable difference. The frosted version makes a big difference, no gritty look or nasty shadows.

Sometimes you do have to get creative to get rid of the shadows and even the illumination out. It can be done.........just not the easiest thing in the world. BC
