Hi Ya'll, I haven't been on the board in a L O N G time. Just noticed this post and decided to add my bit. Alan did a repair on a 180 amp for me and it turned out very well. I do have plans of sending the MK3 to him in the near future for a good over going. He does great work.

First, let me thank Fixer for the excellent repair of my Browning Mark III set. The Mark III has been brought back to life thanks to the excellent work by Fixer. Matter of fact is the locals have reported back that the Mark III is the best sounding Mark III that they have heard lately (and there are a few Mark III's in my area). So, thank you Fixer for your professionalism.
Second is about repairs. For the novice such as myself, when it comes to these old time radios, and, you want them to stay alive, never ever think you have all the tools (advice included) to do it yourself. I did, and it did not work out to well. Albeit Fixer told me what I tried to do more than likely was not the cause of the receiver to fail, but that the parts in these old time radios do wear. So, if you want your tube radio to be right, let someone who can do the job right repair it.
Third is if it was not for this forum, I would still be scratching my head on what was troubling my Mark III. Several of the members gave near perfect descriptions causing the problem, and then, Fixer stepped up to offer repair work. Fixer and I made arrangements and off the Browning went to Fixer. We discussed repair options and upgrades. I took his advice and had am so very happy now.
Having wanted Brownings for several decades now, I have a set that I am proud of. All thanks to Fixer. Excellent job. ;D

I was in line behind you. ;D I must admit, I'm getting a little excited to get them back. Looks like I may have them back in another week or so. Last report I got from him a few days ago, the receiver has had it's face lift and the transmitter was about to go under the knife. I'll let ya'll know when I have my bird back home. 73's

EagleIII - I will be waiting your feedback. I must say that Fixer has made me extremely happy. The Eagle III's are working perfectly. Hi Ya’ll, Well, it’s finally time for my radio repair report. I sent my Browning Golden Eagle Mk III to Alan (Fixer) at Tubes Plus and he went through the receiver and transmitter, from what I can see with a fine tooth comb. When I got the radio back, I had a few issues getting it set back up and operating as it should have been. My issues, not his. After a number of e mail’s between myself and Alan, I now have it all back up and running like “new”. Looks like it turned out to be a little wiring issue with the D-104 I’m using. Guess I should have shipped that with the bird as well for him to check out but…… Alan did a repair on my Browning 180 for me last year and now the Eagle. Alan has been very helpful to me from the beginning to the end. During my time of getting the Bird back up and running, he was always there with suggestions, ideas about what to check and how to correct it. What can I say but the Eagle is “screaming” across the airways once again as it did in the early 70’s. ;D THANKS Alan for your help, time and patience during this Eagle repair.
