I got a Tram titan II off of a local CBer and it seems to work fine on AM but it doesnt work at all on SSB. It transmits but it wont clarify anyone in.

But the SSB demodulator is a simple BFO circuit which can go out of alignment easily. Add in the extra work of a tunable receiver, and it's a lot tougher than a synthesized radio to clarify people. If you've ever tried using a Browning Mark III on SSB, it's not too much different.
