Movement is very sluggish I have swapped tubes also swapped meters. Anyone come across this? Thanks and Happy Independence Day.

Hello. I supose it comes down to yiur definition of slugish,i have a D201A and it has always has had a nic smooth somewhat slow incoming signal response,i beleive it to be a characteristic of those machines,a nice smooth somewhat dampened movement instead of the super quock almost jerky response of most meters.I say this partly because i have had Greg Barkett of Barkett electronics go through this one with the understanding it was to be in perfect working order. don19488

It seems sluggish compared to the D201 meter movement. Maybe U400 the opamp for the meter has issues? Or it may be a characteristic of the D201a. I replaced C451, checked diode d404 and r453 doesn't looked cooked.

Maybe Dampened would be a better description. It's definitly slow on recieve and transmit. Is this a characteristic of the D201A? I think this is one of the first production runs, based on the hinged lid, although it has the 6dg6 instead of the 6l6 in the final.
