For the guys out there that have owned several of the Tram D201A. What are the odds of a channel selector going bad in one of these? Thanks

If it's black it will break if it's gray it ok. At least thats what i've heard. I have one D 201a with the black channel selector that still works but I use the VFO so it won't break.

The channel selector in all Tram D201A's will fail at some point in time. They weren't built to last.

I have my original D201 and D201A that are over 36 and 34 years old, owned my myself since new, and still going strong. I probably just jinxed my Trams..lol !! I will grant you that I do change channels very gingerly and never rip through the channels like a mad man. Sniper

But I stand by my statement. All Tram 201A (the topic of this thread) channel selectors will fail. Will yours last a long time? Since you are careful with it, it should. Just don't expect it to last forever.
