"buuble rape"? Sounds kinda kinky... Looks like a nice radio, but If I were you I'd go check the spelling in your description.

Here, copy and paste this: Up for bid is one of my personal Browning Mark III BBS with a super clean Astatic D-104 mic from my bench of oldie but goody tube type radios. Just weeding out some of the doubles I have, and here is one of them. Very clean shape in a smoke free environment, every thing on the radio at this point is functioning. There is a small ding in the case on the one side of the transmitter, but you can barely see it. There is a picture of it in the auction photos. If you have any questions about the radio feel free to ask me. This radio is going to be shipped in two separate boxes with lots of bubble wrap with a signature delivery and insurance. Thank you and good luck bidding! 73 ssss Edited for my own typos!

That was good cbrown, now check your spelling of the word wrap....not rap, and barely, not barly unless you are speaking of grain! Are you listening to that RAP music, while planting barley? Sorry ......I couldn't resist it, but it's all in fun! Sniper

Ha, ha! Spelling 101. Sniper, I didn't check out your auction yet but I hope that you get more $$ than you expect. I can't bring myself to sell any of my Browning stuff. I'm currently running a series 2 (R27/S23) with a Glen VFO and Nomad slider/buffer kit that I installed in the transmitter. I have one of the first Golden Eagles, no Mark designation, but some call them a Mark1, and I agree. It's completely factory stock but the receiver has an AGC problem. I'll just bypass the switch so that the AGC is always on but I haven't got to that small fix yet. I have an extra S23 transmitter for parts but have robbed a lot of parts from it . I have an early production Mark III, I guess for parts too, the transmitter works but there's a problem in the receiver, forgot what it is but I have a tag on it so that whenever I get to that I'll know what's what. My main late production Mark III that was perfectly usable is at Nomad Radio getting the 100,000 mile rebuild and the Siltronix VFO is getting the dial removed and the digital frequency counter installed. The radio isn't butchered but I did install crystals so that the receiver will cover below and above the 23 channels, and I installed the slider/buffer kit in the transmitter also. I wonder what a "new" vintage bird with those modifications would be worth considering what the radio cost new? I figure around $1,000.00 but I know I wouldn't get that much, that radio will never be for sale anyway. I guess the price depends on how bad someone wants a radio like that. Just thought that I'd comment. Again, good luck on your auction.

Tombstone, That slider is really cool with the digital display. He's the one that inspired me to mod my own late model Like new out of the box Mark III.

Hi Tombstone, It's not me selling any of my equipment it is railroader that has one up for sale. I only have the one Mark III with a PAL slider and I will be keeping this one along with my Trams. I just had to kid around with cbrown on his wanting railroader to copy and paste his (cbrown's corrected spelling version) to railroader's post on Ebay. I guess the devil made me do it lol. Sniper

Tombstone, That slider is really cool with the digital display. I have one also on my Mark III that looks great and works even better. Nothing like a digital readout VFO.

Yes, and my Mark III with the Siltronix 90 is stable enough that I can use the radio for sideband, the Glen drifts all over the place, yet stays put on my S23.

Everyone makes spelling mistakes, it's no big deal. I've just never seen that many in one description. You have to be careful, some people will look at the description and then wonder about the radio. Always review the description twice. Even I had two typos in the version I corrected.

It's easy and common to make typo's. I do it all the time on this forum, even missed them after I've proof read the message. I have a strange problem when typing personal messages. When I see it and put the cursor on it to be corrected, I click and nothing happens so I have to go to the end of the last word that I typed and backspace 'till the misspelled word is gone and start typing again. Makes it very tedious and it only does that on PM's on this board??

Railroader, I just checked out your auction. Too bad that there's no bids yet. I did Ebay for a few years and made a nice living from it but things have changed. No offense intended but your starting bid is too high even if a potential bidder knows what the radio is. It's a darned if you do and darned if you don't situation. That radio is well worth your starting price and more and I wouldn't lower it, you take a chance of having to sell for less than it's worth. That's the problem with trying to auction a working vintage high end rig like Browning and Trams. Most so called "CBers" have the mindset of turn the radio on, set the thing overmodulated, and splatter all over the place using no time proven radio protocall whatsoever. I hope someone that knows these radios starts bidding. I myself would be afraid to list a radio that you have to actually tune, set up properly, etc. Most "CBers" may think that they can properly run this type of rig but actually don't understand. I'd be afraid that a buyer would try and run the radio and when they make it sound like crap they claim something is wrong. I think that the savvy radio operators on this board understand what I'm trying to say, I'm not sure myself sometimes! I hope that the bidding soars, Railroader.

A lot of watchers is a good sign and like you say, they are all ready to bid as close to the end as possible, you should be allright. Please don't think that I was criticizing (spelling?) you in my last post, I was just making observations based my experiences with Ebay.
