ok im new to this vfo thing last week i was at the cb shop and the guy that i bought the mark 3 from said that he found the vfo that went with that radio i said ok he went an got it and says it plugs right up and comes on with no problems
ok out the back is a what looks likes a cable with a RCA plug on the back of the vfo i see a female rca plug i got that
on the inside of radio where the rca plug cable goes in the back of radio it looks to hook up on a channel 24? crystal the center part does then the sheild or ground goes to chassis ground
ok vfo comes on i can have it on say 19 but nothing acts like it slides off freq to another freq.
also do i need the transmitter set to a certain notch? maybe the Man XTL 1 or Xtl2
and also there is a vfo - and + on the recever side right below the AM light anything on that what does it do
i havent switched anything yet or messes with it to much better to ask questions to get the answer you dont know.

the cable inside the radio is probably hooked to channel 23. so set the transmitter on channel 23 and now you should be transmitting on what ever frequency you have the vfo on. now as far as the receiver goes if you have one that says man xtl1 xtl 2 you are not going to receive very high in the frequencies. if you look on receiver on the channel dial there is a frequency listed below the channel number whatever the highest freq is thats as high or low as your going to be able to rec. the vfo - + you are referring to is on the transmitter i think. and it doesnt affect anything when your on the vfo. hope that helps and im not an expert but thats the way i was told that it works

i think that is to slide off freq on the transmitter. sort of like unlocking a claifier on a newer type radio. i can pull the owners manual and tell you if you need it
