I was just wondering how many of you have heard of the Cobra 131?I didn't know they made the Cobra 131 until I seen the radio on e-bay.
I ended up winning the Cobra 131 for about $67.00 that is with shipping. Then seeing the pic's and looking at radio at my house, the radio is in new condition. Also the radio came in the original and manuals!
I did have the Cobra 131 converted with two different crystal's,to get 27.3650-27.4550(skipping 27.3950 and 27.4450)
The TX/RX are great on this radio!I have gotten great audio report's with the cobra 131.Also this radio was tuned by a great tech!

Is the radio a mobile or a base? If it's a mobile and has a black front panel, it might be what was caled the Texas Blackface. If that's what it is then it's very rare, I've only seen and worked on one. If it's a base and has a flat front instead of the signature Cobra sloping front, that might be what it is. if you can find an original SAMS manual, it will show a picture of the radio. It's in CB45 but I don't have that manual. Let us know what you find out.

It was made in the 1970 timeframe and is very similar (and may have the same internals) as the SBE Console. It was a woodgrain cabinet, and flat front face. Here's a pic of one:
