I recently I bought a browning solid state audio amplifier model #STA-20 does anyone know what this is? It appears to be something with a pa system or a stereo equip piece.

I saw one of those briefly. The STA-20 designation probably stands for stereo amplifier-20 watt, like for home use. But it might be a more powerful audio amp for a PA system or stage use.

From looking just at the front panel it looks like a PA amplifier.
Can you take a photo of the back?

Yep, that is definitely a PA amplifier. Looks like it's in great shape, too.
The back has connection for 4 and 8 ohm outputs, and also 25 and 70 volt outputs for 'constant voltage' speakers with transformers attached.

Railroader, cbrown is correct on that unit being a PA amplifier. From what I can see of your pic of the front panel, it looks like it has the Browning logo on it. Have you checked it out to see if it works? If it runs ok it's a shame to just leave it sit. You may find a use for it.

well I did put up a post up on the browning site forum glenn said he heard of one he would have to look in his records for more info. The interesting thing about the pa amp in the builders tags it says winter park Florida i wonder if they had an office or a factory there.

At least an assembly plant, since they made a tag with the location.
If you are a Browning collector, I'd hang on to it.
