Anyone use chnl 16 anymore for ssb DOCTOR/795 Once in a while I'll hear some SSB DX on 16, but none of the locals ever use it. Most people are on 36 - 40.

We use it here, 50m north of Boston, ch 16 because it was "old school ssb for old school radios". Funny,no one was ever on this channel, several of us started running ssb,and before you knew it we had am'ers on with us almost nightly! Why does the radio have to lead to pissing others off?

We had a similar problem down my way. We used to run a 2nd CRR on SSB, and we tried to run on ch 16, but we got grief from AM'ers in a distant town. I could barely hear most of those guys (which means they probably couldn't hear us all that strong either), but they pitched a royal fit anyway. Every once in a blue moon we'll switch to SSB during CRR, but we'll usually just stay on 13.
