Couple of Fleabay finds that came in recently. I saw these Robyn radio docking stations and thought they looked cool. I was able to score two of them with like new radios docked in them. Both 23 channel crystal rigs with digital channel read-outs and nice big meters. The larger Robyn GT-7C has a unique channel selector (or the lack there-of) It uses an internal solenoid with a star wheel to activate the channel selector switch like an old analogue TV. It even has that "cha-chunk" sound when changing channels. You can use the mic to change channels or a toggle switch on the radio. The stock mic is anemic so I'll figure out the mic pin outs to add an adaptor or change out the element. Both have great receive and the SX-201D is a good talker. It came literally shipped in the factory box. Another "Cheapie" radio I got was a Royce 611 in the box. Great rig with good receive and TX audio. There is a volume control for the radio speaker on the mic. I really like these ol' 23 channel crystal rigs as that's what I got my start on back in the day. Another side benefit is the lack of white noise in the receivers for what ever reason. This was an interesting model radio. It came equipped with a BFO which allowed the reception of SSB signals. I guess it was a poor man's SSB radio, since AM signals could be tuned in while on SSB, so you could actually converse with someone on SSB with this radio. Don't know too many people who used one that way though.......
